Michele Edwards

  District: HD-20

Bio: Michele is a lifelong resident of Staunton, Virginia. She spent 15 years as a classroom teacher and school administrator. Currently, Michele works for a non-profit that supports small business owners in Haiti with training, mentoring, and access to capitol. The 20th district is an attraction for quiet beauty, ethereal mountains, and beautiful rural scenery. It is a priority of Michele’s that it stays that way. Michele wants  to take a lead in local sustainable farming, incorporate sources of renewable energy, which would also help to create more jobs, and push for a lessened contribution to climate change. She also volunteers at Middle River Regional Jail, and is an advocate for children in foster care, being a former foster parent herself. She currently resides in Staunton with her husband and two children.
